ICAS by Konnor Kwan

This week we were having the ICAS test with English, Math, Science and also writing. I just joined the English ICAS test which was tested today after school. When I went into the hall for the test, I thought the number of form 3 students who joined the English test most of them were came from our class, just around two to three students were from the other classes, and I was surprised with it.

At first I thought it would have some long questions, fill in the blanks, mc, etc. I thought style of it was just liked the normal test because this was the first time that I went to joined this kind of test. However, I knew that it was only mc from my friends and only could use pencil. After knowing this thing, I could kick myself for the tests, I would like to join the other tests if the tests were all answering the mc because seems I didn’t want to write too many things.

Then I was thinking opposite again with the decision of joining other tests after the English test. When we started the test, there were all around eight reading for us, half passages were long and the other half were very long. There were around five to six questions in each reading. And those reading were very difficult because there were many words we had never seen it before, it was very hard to guess the meaning. So for us there most of the answers were just answered without thinking. After the test, we talked about the test, they all said it was very difficult, they didn’t even understand. It was good that I didn’t join the other tests now because I don’t know how difficult will the test be……

Script vs Stories by Dawn Lau

As today English lesson,we need to learn how to write a script.First,Mr Cheng give us some paper,which is about Chapter 11 of Spiders' Web,he had already helped to 'write' and he need us to arrange the order of it without looking at the original story.However,no one was totally correct.Actually,reading the story is much more easier than rearrange the order or even write a script,but it does help to make us learn more from it.

One week or even later,we will have a lot of UT like China studies,Chinese writing and chinese UT!Worst of all,we need to do project like Chinese and China Studies!!!!Tomorrow is our deadline for China Studies!!!(not really deadline but our teacher likes to make the deadline'fronter'!!!)I not yet really finish it........but I will try to finish it today!

Although S.3 students need to face a lot of challenges like choosing your NSS subject or even facing the

HKSAR and the daily life difficulties,but we shouldn't be too worried about that,we need to be more optimistic and to face it.

Lastly,English Only Day makes everyone keep speaking English and I think that seems that our class have make Wednesday as a habit of speaking English....

Busy week By Henry Mak

In this week, we are very busy. We have so many tests and work to do. I really cannot manage my time.

On Monday, we have a English test. It is much different than before. It does not have any multiple choices. Most of the questions are long questions so it is much harder. I think I will be faired this time.

On Tuesday, we have a science uniform test. Mr. Dik said this time would be more difficult than before. We should work hard.

Today, I think the science uniform is not so difficult. There are only some questions that I do not know how to do. It is because I do not understand some of the questions. I think that I can past in the uniform test.

In the coming days, we have a China studies project to hand in. The deadline is 1/4. It is a special day. My topic is about the war between China and Japan in World War 2.

Tomorrow, it will be the English-only day. It is the worst day in a week. I hope the time in tomorrow going faster. Also, I hope one day, we will stop having the English-only day.

Monday By Stephanie

   Today is another Monday after the weekend. This Monday wasn't  very good to everyone,especially Mr.Cheng(I think)- As we saw Mr.Cheng's Facebook, we have to stay for a long time after school today and he wasn't in a good mood when he came up to ask the whole class to stay at recess, we don't know what happened at all. At recess, he bring along with our homework book and said that seven of us didn't hand in the homework, but no one tell him. He said that's why he was so angry. At that moment, no one speak. Finally, he said that the quality of our homework was not as good as he expected- Some of the essay didn't have a conclusion or even not completed. He asked us to find a classmate or our family to correct the mistake for us and if we think that it is too messy after correction, we can do it again.

 As Mr.Cheng said, I think it doesn't need to be taught for how to be a good and responsible student. I am sure everyone in our class can do it! :) Let's try our best! :)

P.S. Remember to hand in the circulars and the Homework Book tomorrow. It would be great if there are 32 books and circulars in the morning. =]

Happy Friday` JoDy`

As a lot of our classmates wanted to have the Chinese Only Day before, so that Mr. Cheng said that today was the Chinese Only Day. xD But we didn’t have any punishment. He said that just want we try to speak Cantonese without English. But the day just start for a few minutes, a lot of us had already spoken in English. And a lot of us think that having an English Only Day is better than having a Chinese Only Day.

      At the lunch time, we had our party on the English Only Week. We had ordered the KFC. Sorry for that we didn’t order enough food for us and some of us were feeling angry after eating all the food. All of us were feeling very happy and excited during the party. Hope will also have this kind of party next time, it must be very fun.

      In the reading period, we were having the ‘The spider web’ chapter 11 and doing some preparation work for the drama. In the English lesson, Mrs. Zhao was coming and looking at our class. The idioms’ sharing was from U.S.A. today. Then we had ‘The Spider Web’ and check the answer on it. Before the lesson end, we played the game that we play on last Friday on the Ipad. Was that Mr. Cheng gives us a word – Resentment, and then we have to make the longest word out. Mr. Cheng said that the longest word on it were only 6 letters. Finally, the longest is – TESTER. XP All of us laughs a lot. I love Friday English lesson a lot. It is because we will be very fun and happy also without stress on the lesson.

P.S. don’t forget we have the Science UT on Tuesday. 3A word hard.

Wed English Only Day~ JoDy`

      Today was the English Only Day. After the English Only Week a lot of us had been brain washed. Everyone just spoke a lot of English every day and nearly forgot Cantonese. XD For the normal school day, some of our classmates just suddenly speak in English, then most of us are replying he/she in English too. I think after the English Only Day and Week, a lot of some has already put English into their life. It is because when speak in Chinese, normally we would put some English in it. It is the first big step for us. Hope English will really put into our life this few years. As Mr. Cheng said we should speak and think more English, so that we will dream in English. On that day, I think English had really entered in your life. I think all of us will have this day coming soon, right?

      

      In the Science lesson, we had the Science quiz. Lots of our classmates said that it was very difficult. I think we should work harder on our study. Or we may fail on our UT on Tuesday.

      In the reading period, we had our PTH performance. It is because our class had lot of student helpers of the Learning Symposium. They will go after the reading period. In the PTH lesson we were listening to the PTH songs and also talking with Ms Zhao in PTH and a bit English too. xD 

English English by Jack Lam

As Oscar forgot to do the blog yesterday, every members of our group have to do it tonight. I hate you Oscar. Too much work to do tonight.

English only week was just passed. English only day was come. My god!

In the science lesson, we had a quiz. It is a pre-test for us because science UT is coming. This quiz was quite difficult for me because I didn’t do a good revision for it. So, I may fail in this quiz. So sad! My science is getting weaker this year. I think it is the time to work harder and `revenge’.

I skipped the last two lessons today because I was the helper of the Learning Symposium. I felt so sad during the Learning Symposium because I couldn’t help the guest to use Newsmaker( a computer program). In fact, There was some problem in that computer. If I could choose, I want to have CCA lesson more than being a helper because my CCA( history club) was watching `Red Cliff’ today.

English Only By Oscar

I know it had passed already, the blog I am doing now should be done on yesterday. However, I had forgot to do it!!! So I needed to do it today. Yesterday is English Only Day, and also the day me and my friends be the helpers of the Learning Symposium, I was so happy that I can skip the PTH class and the CCA. Actually that I had heard Elizabeth speaking Chinese, but I'd forgot to report to Mr. Cheng. At the Learning Symposium, Mr.Cheng had talked about how to use the Newsmaker to the guest. After that, the guess had tried to use the Newsmaker and even the English teachers had came to have a ty, Miss Cheung was very exciting about the effect that were set in the Newsmaker. However, as all the computers were logged in with the same account so that many computers crashed and it gave a lot of inconvenience to the guess. After that, Mr.Hung had talked about how our school used the iPad to have lessons, but I don't know what had he talked about because I had left and played basketball.

As a matter of fact, I am now feeling confused on speaking English and PTH ._. When I was speaking PTH to MS ZCJ, I spoke English-0- However, when I spoke English in the PTH lesson, I suddenly used PTH -0-“

In Science lesson, we had the Science’ s quiz -3-Sigh! Many people commented that it was quite difficult .v. Then, we should work harder for the Science UT on next Tuesday, otherwise, we may failed @@

To be honest, I hate today’s reading period. As Michelle and I went down to G/F together with the students’ helpers, the staff thought that Michelle and I were helping for the greeting._. And finally, Michelle and I discovered that we went to the wrong place, so we running away swiftly and silently XD

During the helping for Newsmaker, I think I know what i should do for tomorrow’s presentation… (but I am now feeling very nervous and worried ><”) hope that we can enjoy the cookies again tomorrow >V<

Chinese only day?!

When the first time we knew that we are going to have an English-only-day, many classmates said that they would like to have a Chinese- only- day. But…do you think that we can speck Chinese for the whole day without specking any English? I don’t think we can ._. To be honest, I admit that English has already entered into our life, we would always mix English together with Chinese. (Chinglish?! LOL) we usually use “Bye” to replaced “zài jiàn”. (I am going to use Kelly as an example :P) just like Kelly, she would ask : “  who want to go WeeWee?” everyday, rather than asking us in Chinese :] as a result, I think having a Chinese-only-day is much more difficult than having an English-only-day :P

Fever NBA 24-3-2011 by Oscar

Today is the third and fourth game of the Fever NBA seasons, every player played their best game. The third game was very funny, is was 5D vs the LTP B grade basketball team. The boys of 5D all wore beach pants and like they were on the beach, everyone laugh. I thought that the 5D can’t score much, but the 5D score much and almost get over the LTP B grade basketball team at the 1st and the 2nd section. However the basketball team started to play hard in the 3rd and the 4th section, but the was still many funny moments. Casper Wong who used to be a shooter missed four three-point shots even though he was wide-opened.

The next game was the team of 3B+3C, two form.2 students and and form 4 vs the and team of form 4. 3B+3C team’s play was better than the last time. It was an amazing game, I wished that I was on the court too!

Today was the first day back to school after the holidays. Everyone seems to forget all the thing that need to do especially the Chinese Dictation!-3-

In the first lesson- English, South Africa presented their news which was about euthanasia. (Hey! 3a, remember that you have to hand in the both- sides argumentative essay of Euthanasia on this coming Friday :P !)  Furthermore, my group- Australia were responding to read aloud chapter 10 of Spider’s web. As a matter of fact (= actually, today’s idioms by Scotland.), I felt extremely anxious ~_~ (Maybe is because I was standing in front of the whole class-_-“ oh my god /3\ Hope that I can be more clam tomorrow-3-)

In Chinese lesson, as what I have maintained before, we had our Chinese Dictation._. Every times, Ms Chiu would give us some time to recite before we have the Dictation ~ (Ms Chiu, Thanks! you are so kind and nice to us ><” wakaka:D)

In Music lesson, 4 groups had their Music’s Presentation and performance. For my group, we had the Music’s presentation. And the song that we have introduced was LOVE STORY which was sang by Taylor Swift :$ However, as Man Chun acted so….overstated-3- Therefore, I was shocked and nearly the whole class was shocked-0-“ next, we had the performance of Andy’s group. (Group mater: Andy, Matthew, Christopher and Ernest.) They performed the song called Everyone which was sang by MR. Their instruments included Drum and electronic guitar. However it was a bit noisy-3- After that, the group which responding to perform was Michelle’s group :D the song they sang was called I was the small part of the world. They sang like Choir as they divided into 1^st voice and 2nd voice.

Tomorrow, we are going to have our English- only- day-3- 3a, remember not to speak in English!

Staff development day by LC..

Today is a holiday for LTPSS's students- staff development day :D Unfortunately, Our English Teacher X Class teacher- Mr. Alan Cheng still need to go to school~ Wakaka :p
It was the end of the English- Only- Week. For me, i think it is useful for me. i tried to control myself not to speak in Chinese ( except Chinese, PTH, China Study lesson -V-), dream in English, react in English... Some student even commented that their brain were "washed" by English XD Congratulation Mr. Cheng, we have been "Brain Washed" by your English only day + English Only Week :P
Furthermore, this english only week was meaningful to us. Although it has "washed" our brains, we still enjoyed it. During this week, lots of "class's languages" were created which Mr Cheng may not easily understand :) (Mr. Cheng, If you knew Chinese, then you would understand :P)
Moreover, although our "lovely" english- only week has already finished, we still have our English only days -___-"  Yeah~ for those who didn't get catch, hope that you won't be caught for the following english only days~ For those who get catch, hope that in the next English only Days you can try to control youself :P

English Only Week DAY 5-By Ernest Wong

  Today was the last day of the English-only week, the first lesson that we had is LS, we went to the room 431 and use the computer to do our work and then that was our favorite lesson in the English-only week Chinese. After having Mathematics lesson and VA lesson. We had our lunch, after the reading period without Mr. Cheng, it’s time for English lesson, the English was fabulous, Canada’s news sharing was great, the two girls read the passage fluently, and Jessie had surprised us for her presentation’s skills. After the presentation we had a chance to use the ipad, I thought that using an ipad to have a competition with other groups, we got many fun with the activity and the ipad. After all the activities, it’s time to reflect what we’ve done in this week and find out whether the English-only week can help us. I thought the English-only week is a good chance for us to improve our speaking skills. I remembered that the first lesson Mr. Cheng explain his PowerPoint, he said that he wanted to improve our speaking skills, I though he did that successfully. I hope we can have more English-only day or English-only week in the following months.

Congratulations 3A we did it!! English only Week is officially over!!! VICTORY!! WIN-WIN!!

We have just achieved something which no other class in school are likely to be able to do - we've set a new standard for English-speaking in our school!

Think back to the first English only day in November, and the punishments - 500 words, 1000 words... They seem so distant now, right?

Im very sure that everyone got something from it. For those who really tried to speak English for the whole day ( perhaps even at home) you were probably brainwashed over and over again. You will understand what it means to think in English which is a major step in improving your English.

I can say for sure that many of you can, and will, become fluent in English. I hope that this week's experience can give you confidence to keep striving to improve your English. You CAN do it!

The best thing about this week has been that we have done something together again. It would not have been possible had some students decided to "fight" against it.

Let's have a massive party to celebrate our achievement! You certainly deserve it!

English On!y Day (DAY4)~ By Grandy

This week is English Only Week and every student in 3A is very bewaring of speaking. I think they were really trying their best to speak, think, dream and etc. in English. And this sentence is by Mr. Cheng. ^ ^

Also today we receive our class photos so the 3A students signed on the photo cards with high pressure. And we have invited our class teacher Mr. Cheng to sign it for us. THANK YOU Mr. Cheng!!! “Who didn’t sign my card? Please come here.” Someone said. The main point of this sentence is “please”. Do you know what it meant? Our classmates seem to be more polite. In fact, we must be polite as Mr. Cheng said. The book “Hard to be a British” is shown during the English Only Week.

In the English lesson, there are eight groups and each group has four to five group members. Today Mr. Cheng asked us to give “1” to “4” one number for each group member. And the one who is no. 3, pretend to be a teacher. So we have eight teachers finally. Oh, I calculate it wrong because Mr. Cheng is also a teacher then there are totally nine teachers. XD

Luckily I am also one of those eight teachers. > < Actually I was very afraid of being a teacher. It is because I think it is not easy to be a teacher. However everything is fine, when I stand in front of my classmates. Our eight teachers explain the answer why it would be the correct answer or it wouldn’t be the right answer one by one. We wouldn’t be shame, after we explain it incorrect. Everybody makes mistakes even some profession people. But when we make mistakes, we don’t correct it. How can we be able to learn something? And we are still learning.

We just leave one day for speaking English and then we will have a holiday on next Monday. TRY HARD =]

16/3/2011 Third day of English only week by Ernest Wong

Today was the third day of English only week, we went to computer room for English lesson and we did an ‘experiment’ in science lesson that was a funny ‘experiment’ because we played with bubbles, we used ‘magical solution’ to make bubbles, but when I ask what is the magic solution and Mr. Dick said that magical solution is magical solution. I really wanted to say thank you very much.After having a lunch with deal and English, the bell rang, after Mr. Cheng had come, those five boys had not come back yet, Mr. Cheng got mad and asked them to say after school. After that, we kept on reading our English books and then the bell rang again. It’s time to have PTU lesson. In the PTU lesson, we started to present our project by playing video and doing drama, the topic is about being a sales to sell things all the groups were performing well and we had a lot of fun when our classmates present especially when James’s group perform, we had a lot of fun and learnt a lot of things. After the bell, we had the CCA lesson and after it, the third day of English-only week ended for other people but not the boys who got caught…

English Only Week Day 2-By Jason Pang

Today is the second day of English-only week. It wasn’t so hard for our students. Most of our 3A classmates could keep speaking English except during Chinese lesson. In fact, Chinese lesson was the only lesson that could provide a “safe” time for us to speak Chinese. Therefore, we all cherished the wonderful Chinese-only period.

  Yesterday, lots of boy went to Tai Wo to play basketball. They started playing basketball at 13:00. They had a lot of matches and practices. Finally, they went back home at 18:00. Unfortunately, James got hurt after a great score. He was hurt so badly and he couldn’t walk by himself.

  Today, he was absent in the morning. Many people thought that he would be absent for the whole day as he was hurt so badly. However, a man suddenly came into the 3A classroom. It was James. It seemed that he had already recovered. God bless him.

  At lunch time, the boys played deal as usual. They had to use Chinese to communicate with each other. People could realize that their English were better. At least, they used less Chinglish to talk.

  In Music lesson, we had a group to have a MTV presentation. I thought that the powerpoint was great and the MTV was special but it was a pity that the group didn’t add a bonus part in the presentation. The four members of the group had made up their mind to do better in next music test. Hope they can be better.

Yes, you see the bright pink colored-words AGAIN. I need to post a blog on this blog AGAIN. I HATE IT. Every time I use the blog, there must be something bad luck happen AGAIN AND AGAIN. The whole entire end up in smoke, I had tried AGAIN and AGAIN. Sigh… why all the bad thing happen AGAIN AND AGAIN…

On the Friday that had just pass, the 3A class have the class activity AGAIN. They had the dinner AGAIN. They went to Mong Kok to have dinner. I did not go with them this time. They have the class activity AGAIN AND AGAIN. Just joking, don’t be so serious. The real reason is that I need to have a formal dinner with my family. I also want to play and have dinner with you all but this time I cannot…

However, never mind, I hope that there will be a lot and a lot of this kind activity after this time. I should not look backward. I will try my best to attend all the class activity.

 I hope that we can have the class activity AGAIN AND AGAIN. And Mr. Cheng will have the birthday AGAIN AND AGAIN.

P.S: Kenneth doesn’t late for the work AGAIN. I don’t want to see the blog anymore to avoid the bad luck happen AGAIN AND AGAIN.

A New Start Of English Only Week`(DAy1)~By Kelly Lo

  Today is the Learning and Teaching Symposium and the Start of ENGLISH ONLY WEEK. This morning it wasn't a Good Start...

      The first lesson was Chinese Lesson and we have an test to do.

Then the English lesson the girls have to attened the Choral practise for this afternoon.

After the practise it's MATHS UT!!

What a busy DAY!huh...wakaka

  But in the morning, Me and Edith was shocked. Because in the front of the school hall, there's an big PHOTO of Jody, Edith and me..=3=.. In a lots of boolet I was been cutted off and Edith was in a half..Always Jody was in the corner..hehe..

  Today the girls was supposed to leave school early, beacuse we have to perform in Mr.Tham's presentaion about Choral Speaking, so we have to stay. We saw Mr.Cheng wearing glasses, we ask him to wear...He said he's SHY..because he is XXXXXX-XXX<-Play Hang Man...wwakaka..But anyway we have done well today.. Not bad=]

 

  After School, when we were walking to the train station..We were brain washed by the English only week. We still keep on speaking English even in the choral practise I think it's good!!=] Hope we can keep on..



Mr. Cheng Birthday (11/3/2011) by Kenneth Yip

Today was the 11^th March 2011; Friday. A very special day for most of the 3A’s students and especially for Mr. Cheng as this is the birthday of him. As you know Mr. Cheng is so important----teaching us English, Life Education and also being our class teacher, we decided to hold a birthday party for him. 

Actually in months ago, we have already made plans for his birthday. (Having: Party, sending out gifts and our birthday cakes). Here some picture during the process:

In the evening about half past five, we gathered in Yau Ma Tai station and then went to had a birthday dinner at :

Actually, a lot of people are late, most are the boys (especially me----Kenneth), and therefore the boys trick me by putting some wasabi into the green tea ice-cream when I come.
